After about one hour and a half, we arrive the Thay pagoda. This is one of famous attractions in Ha Tay Province, 30km southwest of Hanoi. It is also known as Thien Phuc Pagoda dedicated to Thich Ca Budha, Sakyamuni and 18 arhats. After visiting the pagoda, we will start our bike ride along the rice fields and countryside villages. The bicycle tour will take about two hours before we arrive the Tay Phuong pagoda, also called Sung Phuc Pagoda, is located on Tay Phuong mountain, in Yen village, Thach That district, Ha Tay province. It is 37 kilometres from Hanoi, along the Hanoi – Son Tay route, and 6 kilometres from the Tay Pagoda.

Lunch will be provided in a local restaurant.

After lunch, we join our support vehicle again and enjoy one more hour drive to Duong Lam ancient village. This village has been known as a museum of laterite with ancient houses aged up to 400 years old. It is also the only place in Vietnam where two kings came from. After the recognition of Hoi An ancient town and Hanoi old quarter, Duong Lam was recognized as a national relic in 2005.

Enjoy one more hour biking in the village, talking with local people, visiting ancient houses before getting on our vehicle again for the journey back to Hanoi.

Arrive Hanoi around late afternoon. End trip.

You will be met up at your hotel in Hanoi by Lotussia Travel team. After briefing and a short warming up exercise, travel along the Duong riverside to But Thap pagoda. The name of the Duong River sounds intimately in the heart of every Vietnamese because of the charming and peaceful countryside the river meanders through. The numerous pagodas bordering the Duong River through history have added a major attraction to the Kinh Bac (northern) region.

Cross through some small villages before arriving at But Thap Pagoda in time for lunch at a local restaurant.

Visit the But Thap pagoda before continuing on to Bat Trang ceramic village. Arrive Bat Trang, we will cycle around the village, meet a craftsman in workshop. He will show us how to make pottery and then we can try to make some by ourselves.

Join our vehicle again for the drive back to Hanoi. End trip.

There is no better way to discover Hanoi than by bike. Join our newly-discovered bicycle tour and experience both the old quarter of Hanoi and its new suburb area in just a half day.

You will be met up at your hotel at 8:00am by our tour guide. He then give a brief explaination about the biking route, riding tips and related information. Leaving hotel, we will follow an narrow road where there is surprisingly little noise of bike horns. We will bike along these small streets until we reach the peach garden there we cross the river to join an immense corn field. As we cycle through the corn field, and vegetable gardens, we will see how the life is quiet and peaceful after just few minutes cycle.

The dog barks; farmers plant vegetable working on their fields; children play on their house court with simple toys…these are common sceneries we will experience during our trip. Stopping by a local house and talking with local people will make your trip more enjoyable.

We will join the Long Bien historical bridge before biking to another part of Hanoi. Long Bien bridge is a historic cantilever bridge across the Red River that connects two parts of the city of Hanoi, Vietnam. It is also commonly referred to as the Paul Doumer Bridge. After crossing the bridge, we continue cycling through local villages, rice fields and smiling faces. With the guide, you will know how we plant rice, how the villager life is, how our rituals are…

Around noon, we bike back to the hotel. Trip end.
